China is manufacturing new towns on its distant Himalayan limit
High in the foggy Himalayas, a winding mountain road opens up to a clearing in the
pine forested valley, revealing sections of uniform Tibetan-style houses,
each finished off with a Chinese standard.

Improvement is happening in this remote spot. Stacks of logs and other
building materials line the road. On a nearby slope, cranes tower over rising
apartment blocks.

"They are building resettlement houses here," says the Chinese travel vlogger
who filmed these scenes last year, speaking into his phone on the side of the road.
"As soon as people live and settle here, it clearly proves that this is our
country's territory."

However, the town - known as Demalong and officially settled in Spring
last year with a neighborhood of 70 families, according to an organization
notice found in the recording - isn't simply arranged there of brain by
the world's ascendent superpower.
