The government increased the higher judicial house rent allowance for the judges of the Supreme Court

Earlier in this week our government raised the house rent and salaries of the high court judges and Sources say that the law ministry asked for this change because house rents in Islamabad have increases from the many years.

In the notice by acting president Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani on November 4 it was announced that the house rent for Supreme Court judges will go up from Rs68000 to Rs350000.

The special allowance for judges also has been increased from Rs428040 to Rs1061163.

The order makes changes to parts 20 and 22 of the Supreme Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privilege) Order 1997.

This new rule will be called the Supreme Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order 2024.

Moreover in the Last year former Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani had increased the monthly salaries of the chief justice of Pakistan and other Supreme Court judges to Rs1.2 million and Rs1.1 million.
